• Intricate granular media behavior (from micro-mechanics to emergent macroscopic response)
• Offshore geotechnics (seabed response, foundations, and marine geohazards)
• Fluid–soil interaction (coupled multiphase processes, seepage, erosion, liquefaction-related phenomena)
